Can anyone tell me about this school and the location? Here is a link if that helps:
http://www.anseong.go.kr/service/english/introduce/index_1.html
I am interested in knowing about transportation, economy, and other things crucial to living. It would be helpful if someone could send me a link to a map showing this city.
Thanks! |

Thanks! It appears to be a pretty insignificant bump in the road. After living in Beijing and Tianjin for 9 years I think I am going to like the change. |

It will be either a middle or high school, or possible a combined middle & high school. If it's a HS, whether the students are lovely or a complete chore to teach will likely come down to whether's it has an academic or vocational programme. That would be my first question about working there. |

I live in Anseong (well, technically about 20 min outside of anseong city, in the rural boonies).
Anseong itself is a pretty smallish city by Korean standards. It has a Emart, a small downtown market area, no movie theater, some mountains, etc. Otherwise, there is not really much to do here, people go to pyeongtaek to watch movies. Most people go to seoul for the weekends.
There are about 20ish foreigners here and most people here are pretty nice and we get along for dinner sometimes.
There is no subway or train station but the bus to Seoul takes only an hour and cost 4000-5000won one way.
Oh, and my fiance works at the Anseong girls middle school right now and I also know of the guy who works at the anseong girls' high school as well, so if you have questions of either of those, you can let me know, as well as any further questions about anseong. |

Anseong is pretty built up. You won't be in the boonies.
It has a nice outlet-style shopping are near ChungAng University-Anseong main gate.
You'll easily find a bus to E-Mart or Home Plus.
To get to the train Seoul Station, hop on a bus to Pyungtaek Station. Takes about ten minutes to get there from the aforementioned university. There are buses to Kangnam Express Bus Terminal which take about 40-50 min.

Also, the local buses go to lots of places and usually on time, we depend on it alot since we live outside of town. The city itself is not too big, you can travel out just a bit and there will be farmlands and rice fields everywhere. There's a couple of universities in the area - Chungang and Hankyoung are just some of them. I haven't seen a homeplus yet, but there is a lotte mart between Anseong and Pyeongtaek. |
