It is an industrial city set in the the semi-rural area.
However it is very close to busan(almost part of the busan metro area) so it isn't too remote...
It does have one of the most famous temples in korea(Tongdosa) closeby and gyeongju is just up the road is as well...

Yangsan is an OK place...
There is a foreign community here... This last year the public schools decided to put a native speaker in every school so the NET population ballooned... The foreign population was already rather large... but it's mostly 3D workers. Anyway, there are a good number of people to hang out with.
What kind of night life and sightseeing are you looking for?
Yangsan is in the middle of some huge development projects. I've been in Yangsan for a while now... The place has changed drastically since I got here...
Anyway... fire away with whatever other questions you have... Also, What school were you offered... I'll give you the low down. |

Seconded. There is actually a bus that takes you from Yangsan to the last Busan subway stop and from there you can reach most places in Busan. It's about a 15-20 minute ride or so (depending on traffic) if I remember rightly. |

Busan's subway goes to Yangsan as well. There are 2 stations: Yangsan Station and Nam-yangsan Station. |

| Yangsan is also a stone's throw away from Tongdosa. |

Back in the day when I lived there, the bus was the only public access.
So they've finally got the subway in there now? Nice to know. |

Yup. This is surely a great convenience for the folks in Yangsan. Then again, I live in Busan and I've never had any reason to ride the subway all the way to Yangsan. |

tried to post this morning but i guess it didn't work. . .
thanks for the info, everyone. the school is wondong middle. as for night life, i'm just looking for anything fun to do and people to hang out with. not much of a drinker, but i could be social. same with sightseeing - i'd go anywhere that doesn't involve a hike up a mountain. does anyone have any info on living conditions, the relative (in)convenience traveling from yangsan to other places in korea, korean lessons, western food, useless trivia, etc? |
