I'm a country boy myself, so my favorites are out in the country:
Jeju (bike around it)
Jirisan NP (hike, hike, hike)
Gyeongju (ultra-cool ancient capital of the Shilla)
Seokgaram Grotto & Bulguksa
Seoraksan NP (hiking) & Sokcho
Wolchulsan NP (hiking)
That place over on the west coast that has the mud festival
Train rides in the SW part of the country
Haeinsa temple
These are the creme de la creme of sites outside the big cities.
As far as big towns go:
I'm not a fan of Seoul, but I do like that part where one can go to buy artistry supplies. I'm talking about the neighborhood where you can get a paintbrush that's four feet long and as big as your thigh. I don't remember the name of it.
I also like the herb market in Daegu.
The coastal cities, such as Mokpo, Tongyoung, Sokcho, and Yeosu are good to visit. |

| Koje/Geoje Island......definitely worth a visit especially if you`re down south. Just a short ferry ride from Busan. Some nice beaches and scenery and nice island to bike around |

Uellongdo and Dokdo
Mokpo and the surrounding islands |

Why isn't this made a sticky? seems obvious to me.
I second the list from Tobias, especially cycling around Jeju, by far the best thing I have done here, and who can miss that little coffee shop run by that old bloke, a Jeju institution.

Geoje is OK. Spent a debauched week there with a little too much time in the Okpo bars with some lovely Russian and Fillipinas if you know what I mean, wink wink, say no more! Go to Oedo to see a nice garden.
Danyang is a nice spot too, Guinsa is pretty special

I know I didn't see many whites at the places I listed, if I saw any at all. That made me like the places even more. |

I live in Ulsan - not much here that would make one want to travel here.

| There IS a very cool Chinese restaurant west of the Ulsan express bus station. I never got to hit that place, but I will next time I'm in town. |

| Go to Tongyeong, get on the ferry. You can usually go to 2 islands with out havign to come back to Tongyeong. Go to Yokjido and Yeonwhado. Somaemuldo is a must see, with very tall rocky cliffs rising from the sea. |

the coastal roads around Tongyeong are spectacular and very close to the city, so one could bike from the town itself for hours of great eye popping coastal rides, really some amazing paths to the immediate west and south
i just came back from a two hour ride  on a gorgeous saturday afternoon
(there's a shakespeare play being performed down by the turtle ship on the bay downtown tongyeong tonight at 7pm, a midsummer's night dream - quite the arts and music scene actually, with live music every night some place in town, come on down, i guarantee you i could find jazz or classic music being performed somewhere on any given night)
and of course Geoje Island is next to the city on the east side, though the best parts of the island are on its own eastern and northern coasts rather than its west shore |

Where in Mokpo? I've eaten in a converted ship and the Sydney Opera House in Mokpo but I never saw an airplane restaurant. |
