how are you - usually Koreans ask have you eaten yet (밥먹었어요?) if it someone you see everyday say at work or something.
It is also common to say how have you been (찰진었어요?) to people you haven't seen in a little while.
quiet please = 조용히하세요 just drop the last half of it if you are pissed off and are speaking to students (NOT ADULTS!)
Not sure about my spelling but if I am wrong some nerd out there will fix it for me. |

안녕 하세요. Hello.
어떻게 지내 세요? How are you doing.
잘지내세요. I am fine.
만나서. 반갑습니다. (Meeting) Pleased to meet you.
제 이름은 (your name) 이에요. My name is ............
이름이 뭐 여요? What is your name?
어느 나라 사람이에요? Where are you from (which country person are you)?
캐나다 (Canada) 사람이이에요.
Canada is Canada.
America is Megook.
알마에요? How much is it (cost)?
If you study Chinese-Korean numers first, it helps because they use this for the counting of their money.
Hope this helps. Welcome to Korea. |

In Dave's world you're practically fluent already. If you learn any more words, you'll soon be taking classes in Korean at the local Uni and will be hounded by all the local TV shows begging you to be on one of their programs where you will woo the viewing public with your dazzling mastery of the Korean language. |

The first thing you want to do is take a few hours to learn to read korean letters and install the Korean IME on your computer so you can type in Korean.
One thing to remember is that you never want to ask a question that can't be answered without pointing or with simple numbers (as in how much is this?)
If you're only learning "essential" korean, you can't do anything to control how they answer you. So you don't know what vocabulary they're going to use to tell you how to do something or where to go.
It seems like the question "How can I go to X location" might be important..but all you're going to hear as an answer is blah blah blah 요. |

Mwah ha ha!
don't forget to say idio-shipsey-yo if he gives you lip.
then jooggulay means "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you" |
