|
|
So, my contract and NOA from EPIK should be arriving within the next few days and I now need to get the E2 visa stamp in my passport from the Korean Consulate in London.
I'm having some problems getting on to the relevant pages on the Consulate's website and although the Korean girl who answered the phone there gave me some information, she seemed more interested in getting me off the phone than she did anything else
Am I right in thinking that I need to do the following to get the visa stamp...
Write to the Consulate with...
- Header letter
- Passport
- Signed contract and NOA
- 2 Application forms with passport photos
- Consul' checklist
...?
I heard somewhere that you needed a photocopy of your criminal background check and ANOTHER apostilled degree copy. My problem is I never photocopied my damn CBC before I sent it to Korea (stupid, I know) and don't have another apostilled copy of my degree because I didn't think I'd need another one (recruiter or EPIK never told me that I would.)
The girl I spoke to at the Consulate was adamant that you DIDN'T need either of these documents again at this stage. But, like I said, she didn't seem interested at all and I wondered if she really knew. I got someone else to ring for me again today to see if they gave a different answer to them, but they just fobbed them off with another crappy website that feeds either conflicting or misinformation.
So my main question is about those documents.
Also, if anyone has the time or inclination to answer the following...
1) Is there any other health questionnaire I need to print off from somewhere and fill out?
2) Where do I get the application form and consul' checklist from if I'm having difficulty assessing the official embassy site?
3) How much does the visa cost? Can you just pay by cheque or do they insist on postal order?
4) How do I ensure special delivery BACK from them? Is there a box to tick on the application form, or do I just enclose a self addressed envelope and pay in advance at the post office to special delivery it back to me? I don't want to lose my passport!
5) What is the expected turnaround in sending me back my passport with visa stamp inside?
Thanks in advance for any information anyone can give, I imagine some people know the lowdown on this pretty well around here. I went on the FAQ but couldn't find what I wanted...
Sorry to be long-winded, hope someone can help...

I have a copy of the application form and checklist I can send you if you send me a PM with your email address.
My visa took 3 days to come through (I picked it up from the embassy in person), but they will tell you it takes one week from when they receive the application. From what I remember, they don't accept cheques, but you can pay by postal order or cash. |

I just managed to pull up both those things from another website (www.gbr.mofat.go.kr) but thanks a lot for the offer
From what you remember, did you get away with not providing a copy of Criminal Check? It isn't on the list for E2 application that EPIK provide on their website, nor is it mentioned on the above site I just quoted. But I've seen it mentioned a few other places.
The criminal check is my main concern really.
Thanks. |

| Nope, I didn't make a photocopy of my CRC and they didn't ask to see it, so I wouldn't worry! |
