I live on the side of a mountain. The town I live in is totally &ay. The only people here are digging the dirt and planting red peppers and staring at me like I'm a complete alien.
I'm 29 and played baseball for 20 years. I don't believe that Koreans are good at baseball. I could play with any Korean. Any Korean league. I think I could play in their professional league. Played for 2 state champ teams in high school and played in college.
I live at a school on the side of a mountain in a town near Yongin. When I go into town (INTO TOWN... SUCH A BIG DEAL HERE!) I see these guys wearing baseball uniforms and acting like they are gods or something.
I don't know... I just think it's funny that the Koreans have a few good tournaments and think that they are the baseball gods of the world. I could play in in their professional league right now. Guaranteed. I'm throwing about 88 and am a switch-hitting C/1B.
Just want to say, I am not impressed w/ Korean baseball and would love to play. If anyone thinks they can bring it, and is anywhere near me, please let me know because I will take some Korean guy's spot instantly.
That is a fact.

I don't get what that pic is trying to show. You are young? You possibly hooked up with a Korean girl? You are not a fat slob? If you were intent on showing you are a baseball god, why not show a pic of you playing ball?
Anyways, if you had a car I would suggest you drive over to neighbouring Poondang which has quite a few baseball teams you might be able to join. Koreans do have some good pitchers, but if you can bat, they would love you.
Koreans might suck at baseball compared to some other countries, but look at how much land they need to play and the lack of land in the country. This isn't America or Canada where we can build a baseball field in every neighbourhood.
Some of the guys who do play baseball speak English, so if you are that intent, inquire. However, if you are going to go in with attitude, you might want to forget it. I can't see that attitude getting you far anyways tbh. I coached a high school baseball team and once a "league" team showed up for the next rental of the field we used. They told us anytime we wanted to play against them we could. I had to deny that as my high school team were total beginners.
Anyways, good luck. |

Patrick,
It sounds like you can play ball, but show some humility man. Why don't you take a set of cleats and your glove, go to a ballfield and ask to play? Don't act like you are a god and show some manners and they may let you play or they may not. That's how I got on a team, but it took me a few tries.
Keep trying and maybe a team will pick you up. But remember, most of these guys studied all of thier lives to go to university, not to play ball; they don't want to be shown up by some snot nosed cocky punk who had the privelege to play ball all of his life.
Korean ball has some high level leagues and some really poor level leagues. I play in a mid level and I've faced some good pitchers. I've also played with some former provball players, all of who have impressed me with their ability.
It sounds like you can play and some teams would love to have you, especially if you can throw like you say you can, some leagues may not even let you pitch, but if you want to have fun and play some ball without coming across like an arse, there are teams out there
Anyhow, get a korean friend to help you out and check out his website. Maybe you can find a team here:

Hey, I play on a English teacher team (1 Korean) that plays at Gwacheon Government Complex.
Right now we have a ton on players, although we would take good players. Especially pitchers and catchers.
Riverboy, what team do u play with, we are always looking to play agaisnt other teams at other fields. It's so hard to play in real fields. |

OP, if you think you are so great and can play at Koean professional league, what the hell are you doing here teaching English instead of playing ball professionally elsewhere? I'm sure you can find a professional league in some country that would pay you many times more than 2m won a month. |

My team is the Asluggers we play out of Songdo in Incheon. It would be nice to break out with an all foreigner team in the league, but I'm still a rookie. Maybe after I get to know a few fellas, I can suggest something so bold. How awesome would it to be to have a foreign squad playing on a weekly basis? even if we got our butts kicked! |
