Hi,

I'm going away next weekend (Hong Kong) but I'm getting increasingly concerned about this swine flu hysteria, especially regarding the 7 day quarantine thing.

Has anybody arrived back in the country in the last few days? What is happening at Incheon airport?

I don't even know if I should mention it to my employer as they won't be thrilled that I'm putting myself at an apparent risk. This is especially true when you consider that my employer is featured in this link:

Thanks for your thoughts...

Hope you didn't have any problems. I went back to the states in May and I didn't have any issues. They did take my temperature and made us fill out a form, but that was all.

With Jacko's death, the hysteria may die down. The networks are feeding us something else to distract us. However, if we learn he died from the swine flu, we're in for double the trouble!

You probably have to fill out a form, hand it in, they take your temperature and that's it. Done.

No worries. (Unless you're unlucky enough to be on a plane with an infected person, then you could be in for a long wait.)

yeah, it is pretty simple. I went to Japan for a few days recently just for something to do and it was fill out a form, don't be sick, quick temperature, and that was it. Just have a good quiet laugh about all the masked crazies and carry on your way through customs. I did get a follow up call from some lady the next day which was kind of amusing, but other than that there are no problems. Just don't travel sick.

No I didn't have any problems in Hong Kong. Just filled in a form going and coming back. Didn't even have my temperature taken! Very Happy

So the swine flu has been declared the 1st pandemic in 41 years by the World Health Organization, but the good news is it's mild flu in most people and you may become immune to future strains of this influenza virus. Unlike most influenza thriving in cold dry air, this one prefers moist warm air which is why there is flu going around this Summer. I haven't seen anyone with signs of flu, but colds and sore throats were still around a month ago. They say out of the reported 27,737 cases of swine flu only 141 died so excessive manufactured fear is in the air.

Yes, you did - you just don't know it. They have thermal imaging cameras at the airports.

That's true. And don't be nervous as you pull into the gate. It may get you a week in quarantine.
