|

I'm trying to find some interesting places I can take my students for day trips with school this summer. They're meant to be about 3-4 hour trips. I want to replace some museum trips I currently have, because I think there are too many of those. I want to try to keep it interesting. Please share any ideas you have, and thanks in advance.
I have 10 1st grade boys for each trip. Here is what I currently have (I need 10 total).
National museum
Natural history museum
Ubiquitous (SK house of the future)
King Sejeong memorial center
Seoul Tower
IT (digital pavilion, I don't know anything about this)
Changduk Palace
Folklore museum
The zoo
An English movie
It's got to be relatively cheap (the aquarium was dropped due to price-20,000 each and I think a board game cafe was dropped for the same reasons). Maybe under 10,000 won per student.
Any ideas? |

Wow, you got a really cool school that let's you do that. I did kite making and flying one day and got in shite for it. "Not English". So, I just have a bunch of worksheets and movies lined up.
Suggestion, I don't know, go to a norebang and make them sing English songs. Tell them a few songs to download and practice and then let them go "live" in front of your studio audience.
Have fun. |

Crikey, you're brave. I presume you're going to be yourself? Sounds more trouble than it's worth really and who's ultimately liable for the students?
Anyhoo, have a squizz through this for learning outside the classroom.

No, I'm not going it alone. I'll have a Korean staff member with me to work with the kids. He's my wrangler and someone who gets tons of respect here, so I think the kids will be "mostly" on their best behavior.
I'm not liable for the kids while we are out, the Korean teacher is. Yes, I do have a really cool school to have this. It's actually their idea-the teacher I replaced did the same thing last year and it was a big hit.
Re: noraebang-sounds like something the kids might like, but maybe 3-4 hours of it is too long, and would be a bit painful for me and the other teacher. I get along with this teacher really well, don't want to inflict too much damage!
Any more ideas? I can do it with what I have, but I am sure there are people out there who know some cool places around Seoul that I would never think about.
Edited to add: halfmanhalfbuscuit_thanks for the website!

I'm trying to organize a trip to Paju English Village for my camp. I'm not sure whether these English villages are any good, but I figure it's worth a try. Too bad it's two hours away though. |
