I like Vientiane Laos. Great weather, friendly people, LBFM's galore, inexpensive to live in and cheap food.

But you could choose any city in the Kootenays; Nelson, Kelowna, Golden....wonderful place.

Under populated and under appreciated, trails, powder, rivers, crags, hot springs....all to yourself.

For sheer stimulation, color, vibrancy and history and the best Chinatown I've been to - Bangkok.

For a sense of 'being somewhere,' cool cinemas and coffee shops, parks and great walks - London

For being the first place in my adult life where I had my own pad and a decent disposable income - Seoul.

For a romantic weekend - Lisbon

For sheer mind blowing excitement and weirdness - Tokyo

To live for a while in the future - Granada.

I often wonder why I left that little piece of heaven....thought I'd find another. I have, but sometimes you really don't need to look any further than your own back yard for the best place on earth.
