what do you mean by higher level? Do you mean monologues and dialogues? I'd recommend:
www.teachingenglishmadeeasy.com , then again, i am biased.
they aren't student books. They are resources for teachers.
Seriously though, if you need help in choosing a book, if you give me more details, I could help you out. Just let me know the specifics. I've used a few different things to get students to improve on their listening (something we focus on at my uni.), all levels. Let me know and I'll make a few suggestions. |

yeah sorry for the vagueness! I myself am a bit in the dark too in regards to specifics. I have just been asked to do an afterschool program for summer camp and my subject is listening to higher level elementary students. Beyond that I don't know much else.
I am assuming it's dialogues/monologues. If I find out more specifics I will update the thread.
In the meantime, if anyone else has any other suggestions for books (I guess with a focus on listening excercises) that would be appreciated. |

Hmm, no worries.
I'll throw something together for you and post it up this evening on my site. Then, you can download it. It's not a book per se, but it'll help you out when it comes to lesson planning for these types of classes.

Okay,
I went ahead and put up Listening Assessments and Activities. This book I wrote is geared towards teaching the listening component of the TOEIC exam. There are directions for students to follow and activities for them to practice. Later on this evening, I'll post up another book I made for listening.
You can download said book at:
www.ralphsesljunction.com
go to handouts
then, you'll see it under listening. It's a .pdf file. Just click on it to download. You wanted advanced stuff? There you go. Remember, just because it says "TOEIC" doesn't mean you don't or can't use the activities or ideas in a regular listening class.
I hope this helps. Will post another soon. |

As my New Zealander friend says, "no worries, mate."
By the way, the second upload has been completed. Also, I made a new section called Assessments. You'll find both files there.
