Living in Seoul and I was wondering if anyone knew of anny poker going on.
Could be home games or in pubs, just fancy a game. |

There were some but someone's home game in haebangchan got raided last night and those involved ended up in the cop shop I've heard...
So everyone has got the willies put up them and no one wants to play for a while until the heat dies down and people find out who dropped the dime... |

Both casinos have no limit. Usually 1-2. Sometimes 2-5 or 5-10 I believe.
Rake is ludicrously high (10% up 15,000 or 20,000, depending on the limit), but free drinks and food. |

wow, that is an insanely high rake. By free drinks do you mean alcoholic as well?
I'd have to be eating and drinking a lot to make my money back from the rakes lol.
How are the no limit casino games in Korea? are they any good?
and how far is it from seoul?

Much looser than USA I've bene told (I'm from UK)
standard preflop raise at the $1/$2 game is $15 - $25 and they basically play like a 3/6 game....
The suck outs will cost you your whole stack - watch out you def need a real bankroll to play.... not just session play.... |

| The looseness / variance at the NLHE $1/2 tables is ridiculous, and as stated the rake is horrific, 10% up to 15k. That's not to say money can't be made if you're well funded and patient, but you will see your high pocket pairs and flopped sets cracked by donks hitting 3-outers more often than you ever thought possible. The tournaments offer decent value, typically 200k + 20k. walkerhill and 7luck both have poker websites, get googling. |

So the casinos play using dollars or are the $1/$2 games played in korean won? 10% is really steep. I'd only play there if the beer was free and I'd be damn sure to drink enough to make it worth while  |

Home games get busted by cops? Really?
I know gambling is restricted or illegal in most countries but wasting police resources to raid the house of a bunch of people playing poker seems retarded. I've never heard of that kind of thing happening here in the Philippines or back home in Ireland. Unless maybe their "home game" was getting very very big. |

It's in won, they call it $1/2 but yup, more accurately its W1000/2000. At the Hilton, you can help yourself to coffee and juice but liquor and food are only free if you're playing something for cash - poker, roulette, slots, whatever. They order the good stuff through the computer terminal at your table / pit and a waitress brings up the drink, or for food they put it on a table for you in the restaurant and you go find it.
At walkerhill its a bit easier for grub, you can literally walk in off the street, go straight into the restaurant and order whatever you want. |

This is a silly question, but why is it illegal to play online here? I was hoping I could get back on FTP or Party poker and murder some SNG's again.
I can play live too, but not with that rake. My ROI online is pretty solid. |

But thats a good thing in my opinion. The looser the better.... I know im gonna be stressed out once in a while, but in the long run, you can make a killing. Just dont go on tilt and play loose with the rest of them.
I normally stick to tourny's, but if the game is indeed that loose, I think I have to go with cash. |

Online Poker is illegal in Korea? I had no idea. I actually played in Korea online back in 2005.... wasnt under the impression it was illegal. |
