Does your Kb card expire on the same day as your visa?
-as mine does... ?
seems a bit uneccesary. I mean there is no risk to KB to keep the card open. I cannot spend beyond the collateral I have already paid in. Its not like its even possible for me to rip them off.
Instead, unless I am renewing at the same school, I have to close the whole account down and withdraw everything out before the expiry date. If i get a new E2 visa, I then have to go through the whole process of applying for a new card all over again...ho hum. |

So are you talking about KEB or KB?
Every card I've ever had expires sooner or later. You just get a new card. Not sure why you feel that you have to "close the whole account down and withdraw everything before the expiry date." Do you think they'll just keep your money if you don't? |

Its KEB.
The credit card for foreigners is valid only while your E2 is valid.
If you e.g. take a break between contracts, it becomes inoperable. That means you cannot buy on credit, nor can you use the card as an ordinary cash card to make withdrawals.
you can, however, make withdrawals using your passbook and then only at the counter during work hours.
To renew the card, apparently you have to show a new E2 visa and letter from your employer...
Interested to hear from anyone else experienced with this card... |

Mac users beware! You can only access the online transfer function using Internet Explorer (IE)...so that means installing extra software on your computer in order to download their bank certificate in order to gain access to your money. I live several hours away from a KEB so I can't easily access my money any other way. So far I have not been able to download the certificate, despite installing the proper software for IE. |

Well that sucks, I'd recommend Samsung Card.
My E-2 expires in Feb 2010 while my Samsung Card expires in 2013.
Billietea, what you say could apply to practically every Korean website, and specifically the Korean banking websites which use activeX. They are not compatible with Mac, end of story. |
