Gazprom seals $2.5bn Nigeria deal

Russia's energy giant Gazprom has signed a $2.5bn (1.53bn) deal with Nigeria's state operated NNPC, to invest in a new joint venture.

The new firm, to be called Nigaz, is set to build refineries, pipelines and gas power stations in Nigeria.

As well as forming Nigaz, Russia is keen on developing a trans-African pipeline to transport Nigerian gas to Europe.

This could further reinforce Gazprom's already-strong influence over Europe's energy supplies.

That has to be one of the most hilariously ironic company names I have seen yet.

That's nice. Maybe first world nations need to consider the rich diversity of talent that Nigeria brings to the table. I really doubt that Russia would send
former Spetsnaz to manage the work.(sarcasm intended for you U.S. liberal arts grads)

Oh yeah, about the title of this post- Daddy Likes!

Reporter: Who can we rely on to increase our supply of petroleum?
Obama: Nigaz.
Reporter: Aren't you taking your role a bit too far?

Something just looks so .... wrong here. They just HAVE to change their name. For the sake of Nigaz....

Nigaz everywhere! Nigaz controls the gas now fool.

My car runs on Nigaz.

When I need to get my car moving, I choose Nigaz, culled from the blackest depths of Africa.

"Fred, I believe that it would be in your best interest to invest in Nigaz"

Nigaz tap that hole til the sweet flows out!

SOMEbody had to do it. Whatever, you were thinking it too.

I can't believe no body has mentioned the hilarious Dave Chapelle skit about a white family named "The Niggars".

djsmnc, your post is a pretty good approximation of it.
