Looking at a job at this branch, and was wondering if anyone had input on this specific one. I've seen other threads about Uijeongbu and threads about SLP, but not both. Thanks!

Just do a Dave's search on SLP. It's not called "Slave Labor Program" for no reason. I worked at the one in Godeok and the people there were shameless criminals. They taxed us too much. They promised overtime and then didn't pay it. They didn't pay the Korean staff, so they would usually leave after not being paid for three weeks. They fired four foreign teachers for calling them on their BS. Their materials suck beyond any noobie's comprehension.

The place I worked at needed someone because they needed a replacement for the black girl who did an ill-advised short stint there. They hired me immediately. A tour of their facilities revealed a room full of computers for "research and lesson prep" (none of them worked, as it turned out). Their lesson plans from their own materials showed the term planned week by week. We ended up having to use a week's worth of materials for a month...no choice, it was a direct order from
management.

We had one working computer for nine teachers to share with our thuggish mid-management person (he's a recruiter now), who monopolized it to keep up with his dates on Daum. When we protested stretching the materials like that (with no resources to supplement them) he flew into a rage and tried to pull the other teacher outside to fight him. He also attacked a few other people at a party with broken soju bottles on two separate occasions. They withheld our degrees and passports for several months after we got our visas and wouldn't return them until the aforementioned thug threatened to beat me up (laughable if you see what a gigantic freak I am). They made me share an apartment with a couple (of jerks) who, when they had a party at the apartment that went on forever, magnanimously reminded me that "we invited you too".

SLP sucks. Don't bother.

Yes, they all suck. Why take chances.

SLP are bottom of the barrel with Wonderland and god knows how many more.

I was at SLP Nowon and the material is stretched beyond belief to keep the kids there. Director was a grotty turd. I paid to get my LOR, I was glad just to cut my losses and move on.

The sole funny thing was the two Mormon lesbians who had shacked up.
