I can't find any directions to MARC near Suyu / Mia.
There is a link to the MARC website but it's all in Korean.
Can anyone post directions?

MARC just moved to Sunshin Women's Uni. line 4. Go out exit 1 walk to straight until you see a bakery (forgot the name) go to the street behind, 3rd floor above a billiards place. It's a new location, they have a cage and plenty of mat space. Experience level from beginners to intermediate. |

I just signed up for Korean Top Team at Children's Grand Park station area.
Some of their pro fighters are fighting in some divisions of K-1. In fact, the first day I was there, I met one of his fighters as he was leaving for a fight in Tokyo.
Also there are a wide range of sizes of students, which helps for me as I am 100kg and 6 feet tall.
The main issue is equipment. There are no punching bags or cages/rings. Considering the state of his gym equipment, the 100,000won/month is a bit steep. But I live one station away so for me it's not such a bad deal. |

thanks for the info. if you get a chance, hope you'll let us know how the training itself ends up being. |

For those of you near Ilsan, there's a MMA gym next to La Festa called Max gym. |

I don't know the directions, but I heard that Tae-woong gym is a good gym. Sinbi from Thailand trained there for I believe like 6 months and uses Sinbi Taewoong as his fight name. |

This looks to have been dead for a little while, but are you guys actually meeting up to train? I'd like to know, because I've been involved with martial arts for a while, and haven't really found people in Korea that do them. Although, this whole thread suggests otherwise.
I have been in Korea for over a year, but I moved to Seoul a couple weeks ago. I've been debating whether I should check out the Judo place in Apgujeong, or go to the BJJ place in Apgujeong. I live in Hakdong, so it's not that far to walk or jog. I have heard the level of Judo in Korea is quite high, but the instructors can border on insanity. I have heard virtually nothing about BJJ in Korea. |

There are several good BJJ gyms in Seoul, and have been many threads on Dave's about them.
I train at Korea BJJ Academy: http://bjj.co.kr/
It's an excellent academy with a full-time black belt instructor. It's 100% gi.
But maybe it's far for you, being in Sinchon/Ahyeon area. If John Frankl BJJ in Apgujeong is closer for you, then go there, it's also a very good academy. John Frankl is a very experienced black belt, but he is not a full-time BJJ instructor, he is also a university professor, so he is not there every day. He has high-ranking students who teach when he is not. I also hear they do mostly gi with some no-gi: http://cafe.daum.net/jfbjj
There are several more options but they tend to have more of an MMA focus and are further away from you. |

The K BJJ academy you recommended looks great, but is very far away from me.
Do you, or does anyone else, know of any places near Gangnam? BJJ, MMA, or otherwise? Any information would be great.
Google doesn't appear to be cooperating. |
