I was just told that we pay for our own round-trip tickets for our renewal vacation and they pay you back when you get back.

I'm not worried about my school ripping me off because they've never tried to do anything like that but I don't have enough money to buy a round-trip ticket...

That's right they pay you when you get back. Fortunatly, for renewals, if you don't go anywhere, they will give you cash in lieu of a Round trip ticket, so atleast you'll have some extra cash for your next vacation Very Happy

Yeah, they don't pay you until you get back at most schools.

Though as mentioned if you don't go home you get the amount it would have cost. Which can be more than your tickets actually would have cost. I believe their supposed to use Korean Air as a standard which generally is pricier than other airlines.

Last year I didn't go home and my school gave me 2.2 mil for what would have been a return flight to Toronto. I'm pretty sure if I had used a decent travel agent I could have found tickets for a decent bit cheaper.
