The cheapest I can get right now for a flight during the school break is about 1.6m (Gimhae-Vancouver return). What kind of prices are you finding? |

Likewise, to the Eastern US, the cheapest I'm finding (one way) is 900 bucksUS or so. Cheapest ones I found were on the mainstream US sights: expedia, orbitz, etc. Anyone find any cheaper? My flight HERE from US was 550!! |

The cheapest quote I got which expired yesterday was 1.6 something to NZ, with two stopovers making the total time around 21+ hours, and 23+ on the way back S
eats are pretty much gone on more direct flights for me and my school kept wondering why I was asking 'so early' about my vacation days and new contract to sign!!! Haven't signed the new contract yet but have got the OK form the VP about vacation at least.
Last minute stuff is going to cost me (and them) money. |

I always use Kang Wystan at Zenith Travel ([email protected]) for my international plane tickets so, naturally, I went to him to check out prices for a return flight home.
From Incheon to Chicago it'll be 1,401,500 Won (which at the current exchange rate is $1,104). That's non-stop, though. The tickets with 2 stops were about 900,000 Won. My school okay'd the price and purchase the direct flight yesterday.
I checked with Xanadu and of course the major US websites like Orbitz, Expedia and each were at least $2-300 more.
Good luck!

yeah, a little less than $1000 USD to the States..
of course, I have no idea what my summer schedule is, even if I'm working or not, so it's a little difficult to plan these things |

1.6 R/T to New Zealand with a one week stopover in Hong Kong on the way home and a 4 day stop over in Bangkok on the way back to Seoul..
that was the cheapest....
Needless to say the vacay better be worth it....
The bad thing is that its school holidays for kiwi kids so its a busy time...
oh well
try expedia..I think there are better deals for Asia and the States

I got ours for about 4.2. That's for a family of 4 and we reserved our tickets about 2 months ago. I'm happy with that price. |

I paid a little over 700,000 for a return trip to Sydney on JAL (leaving on Saturday ).
My boss booked it on a Korean site: http://www.onlinetour.co.kr/
I paid more than 3 times this amount when I booked my original flight from Sydney last year. |

since I want to maximize my vacation I don't have the luxury of being super flexible with my dates.
typical KAL fare to Chicago roundtrip was 2.2-2.4 mil won
delta was 1600 something USD - similar to KAL at 1300 exchange rate.
those are the only 2 that fly direct.
found a very convenient hybrid ticket on USAir - that flies me direct on way there with a very short one stop in SF on the return flight.
$1475 USD.
I'm basically calling BS on the lower prices listed in the thread, provided you are talking about the travel period of end of July returning sometime in August.
Wendy Rose what are your dates (at least approx) and when did you book the ticket? I started looking at least 2 weeks ago and that's what I've been seeing. |

My question is -
Why do you care?
Anyone renewing a government contract (or simply going home) is still under the applicable article of their 2008 contract i.e.:
the employer must buy a ticket;
the employer must reimburse the amount paid; or,
the employer must use the GTR process.
Next April when the first, contractual exit allowances 'kick in', it will pay to 'shop around'. |
