Yep, I have lived in the same apartment for almost two years, but last month I got infested by the little beasties. I had to search the whole apartment for holes they could get into, I was shocked how many I found, I guess glue doesn't seal very well. Well, one can of Raid later most of them are gone and I only see an occational baby, still trying to get them completly gone. Thus ends my roach story. |

I have never really seen roaches in my neighbourhoods - however i live behind a restaurant - and always see mice scurring about outside in and out of the restaurant (usually being pursued by some mangly looking cats)
I often wondered how many restaurants in korea have these mice problems?? |

Then didn't.
Then did again.
Now I don't. |

Thankfully, I've never had them. . not sure what I'd do if I did, cause I've never seen one outside of a Biology lab. ( no roaches on my island at home) |

The traps that you put out and change every three months really do work. I got lazy and didn't change them on time and the little pests came back. You can get the traps at most grocery stores and at pharmacies. |

No roaches, but I'm dealing with ants in my second apartment now.
Irritating, but due to their centralized colonies they seem to be much easier to deal with than roaches.
It still sucks, though. |

New apartment block, mercifully roach free until...
Came home one day and saw a monster in the porch dammit, then another smaller specimen in the sink.
Cursed myself for leaving a few crumbs on a plate around the place dammit but I wasn't to blame actually.
The real culprits were the other residents around me ordering out from food delivery guys and leaving the dishes/bowls/remnants outside their front doors where they some times go for hours uncollected. Yuk!! A MOST unsanitary practice and public health liability. May as well a be rat incentive.
I agree those poison depot trap things are effective. Seem to have contained the problem up to now. |

"Bah-kee bah-lay!!" I say as I point to the floor of the classroom, where surprisingly few have surfaced from the restaurant below. The kids always laugh, even when I just fake it.
What has freaked me out was in the office, where an enormous centipede, earwig or some sort of pede thing crawled out from under my desk. It was longer than my foot, clearly over 30 cm. Seriously! I used a box to get it out the window. And I was a bit jittery for days. Now that I'm reminded of it, I'll be a bit edgy today. It truly was remarkable.
As for my apartment: nothing. Not even spiders, which I always had to look out for back home. Just mosquitoes from late February until early October.
But listening to the accounts of others... uh, I gotta go clean now. Just to be sure. |
