I guess I can't figure this out for sure. It seems like some people are getting the visa with the local check and some are saying you have to have a state check. It's almost funny in an annoying kind of way how Korea's Immigration policy keeps evolving. Wait until the recession ends and they can't get enough teachers.

I was told to get a local CBC by my recruiter and it was accepted by EPIK. |

You can use a local one but only if the local cops check the state. Local only won't work.
Mine got kicked back yesterday.
They don't seem to read all of them so nobody knows what they'll take on any given day. |

This is what it comes down to. It depends on who is reading the apostilled form at immy. Some will look at the document and see a seal...they'll then give it to the OK. Others, maybe people who can actually read English, look at the document, see that it says something akin to 'local check', and reject it. Once again, it depends on who is doing the looking. It's a crap shoot. |

I can get the local in a day, but state could take a week or more. |
Are you on some kind of 24-hour deadline? A few extra days doesn't really seem to matter considering the pace at which things get done in Korea. I sent in my paperwork to my new place and it was 3 weeks before they even bothered to take it to IMMI. |
