I LOVE that site.
The bacon infused waffles should be hailed as a modern classic.
For what it's worth, I eat bacon 3-4 days of the week and am not overweight at all.
I also really want a fluffernutter now. |

I felt like having explosive diarrhea just by looking. Can you imagine how f-ed up your body would be if you ate like that, all day, every day? All the grease?! |

Hey now!! Not all Americans are fat!! Yes I agree that a substantial portion are, but there many who are lean and mean. The food on that link is some of the most repulsive looking matter I have ever seen. I could never bring myself to ingest that sewage. |

Some of that stuff looks like Koreanized Western food. LMAO!
Most of it also looks like American food on steroids. Is this where American food is going? That's suicide. |

I bet you'd make your fortune opening up a restaurant serving some of those crazy foods as long as you don't get sued or tried in the criminal court of law for killing people! |

I gotta admit, I do enjoy fast food, but that.... wow. I think if I actually ate some of that, I would finally gain weight. |

Fathead (the movie) Big Fat Lies
http://www.fathead-movie.com/index.php/about/
About the Film
Have you seen the news stories about the obesity epidemic? Did you see Super Size Me? Then guess what? Youve been fed a load of bologna.
Comedian (and former health writer) Tom Naughton replies to the blame-McDonalds crowd by losing weight on a fat-laden fast-food diet while demonstrating that nearly everything weve been told about obesity and healthy eating is wrong. Along with some delicious parody of Super Size Me, Naughton serves up plenty of no-bologna facts that will stun most viewers, such as: The obesity epidemic has been wildly exaggerated by the CDC. People the government classifies as overweight have longer lifespans than people classified as normal weight. Having low cholesterol is unhealthy. Lowfat diets can lead to depression and type II diabetes. Saturated fat doesnt cause heart disease but sugars, starches and processed vegetable oils do. |

So we've got Holocaust deniers, global warming deniers, and now fast food deniers?
I particularly like this quote from his site:
Quote: |
"Funny and smart, you'll be hard pressed to spend a more enlightening 100 minutes, and you'll come away with more practical knowledge than a whole college course in 'convential' nutrition."
-- Amazon reviewers |
I wonder how much the fast food industry kicked in to produce this film. I love a good burger as much as the next guy, but to deny that this shit is making Americans fat? Give me a break. |

I'd be curious to know how obese the average American (or Brit, or Aussie) would be if they were eating their modern 2009 diet but still living a 1960s lifestyle in terms of the number of calories they burned during daily life. I think that would give us a good indication of how much the food is to blame and how much lifestyle changes are to blame for the rise in obesity.
A lot of foreigners who move to Korea lose weight. I bet a large part of this is because they suddenly find themselves walking a lot more than they did back home rather than due to dietary improvements. I am only guessing though.
The two biggest problems I have with obesity are (1) Tax dollars being used to treat people for preventable diseases caused by obesity and (2) Being surrounded by fat people instead of slim people. Slim people, especially women, are so much nicer to be around ^^ . You can also fit more people on the subway. |
