O.k., that was just meant as a headline grabber.
One could see this coming if one cared to look objectively at what was going on. Bernard Goldberg called this one months ago but even he didn't expect the mainstream media to recoil so quickly.
But at the most recent White House news conference Helen Thomas, a dyed-in-the-wool liberal, did indeed lay into Press Secretary Ronald Gibbs bigtime, saying that even Nixon didn't try to pull the things that the staffers in the Obama Administration have been doing recently. She was referring to when a blogger was planted for Obama to call on but also tactics used at the ABCNews infomercial for health care reform. Another journalist chimed in after her. Gibbs was more flustered than usual (Bush had much more poised and professional press secretaries) and did his usual song and dance in response.
So what do you suppose triggered this outbreak?
Is the honeymoon finally over?
Does the press feel used?
Are they trying to reestablish their credentials?
Or what? |

We can only hope so, but even if it is, the media will continue to shill for the real string-pullers. It will not entail any real changes, only those of the media circus. |

WOW! What a manipulation of facts!!
Her exact quote was in relation to Obama CONTROLLING the MEDIA...it was worst than Nixon's attempt to control the media!
It has ZERO to do with her perception of Obama. Helen Thomas actually quoted George W Bush as the worst president in history.
WOW. What a skewed story! Is this directly from FOX? It is so manipulated to sound like Helen Thomas hates Obama or thinks he's worse than Nixon..but has NOTHING to do with his Presidency, solely on media control. |

Of course, anyone who turns up to some administrative event is part of a lobby or group - why else would they be there? Do you think Mary or Joe just walk in off the street to attend?
Of course everybody there is part of some organisation. |

Obama has always been very controlling with the media, and at least as bad as Bush in this respect. Its just that the MSM had such a hard-on for Obama and Obama coverage that he lived a charmed campaign.
Now, whether the MSM deserves this kind of treatment is another story. Its very hard for me to get upset when they whine. |

While Obama just has his buddies who retrieved basketballs on the court retrieve other things for him now, right?
What "gay hustler" are you referring to? Was he a press secretary like Gibbs?
Ari Fleischer and Dana Pirini showed far more class and decorum than Gibbs ever will. He reminds me of some union huckster.
Just can't bring yourself to admit, Yata Boy, that you're a "yes-man" for the current administration, can you?
