You might try LaBocca in Itaewon. I think they sell deli meats and sausages there. Be prepared to pay a heafty sum though. |

Thanks gonna hit Itaewon after pay day. At least I don't have to go all over the country for what I want. |

I found a really nice austrian (?) deli with delicious smoked meats near The Wolfhound, in Itaewon (but i can't remember it's name). It is fairly pricy, but not way out of line. Very, very good salamis. |

The owner is a *beep*. I wouldn't pee in his mouth if his guts were on fire. |

While we're at it, anybody know where to get some good sub rolls, or is that impossible?
I would love to make some Italian subs, or some cheesesteaks, but the bread is never quite right. I use the hotdog rolls from costco sometimes, but they are a poor substitute.
Any ideas? |

I think there's a nicedeli somewhere on the internet that operates out of Busan that can ship a wide variety of deli meats. You might have to do the searching on your own. www.nicedeli.com? |

Hey, Sluperman. There's a bakery by Hangangjin subway station (one stop from Itaewon) that sells excellent baguettes. It's a black glass building. The name is Passions bakery.
As for the deli near Gecko's and Wolfhound. It's called Chef Melei (sp?). And, I'll second the opinion that the owner is a jerk. I don't care how good his food might be. I'll be the first to celebrate the day he's no longer around. |

The only reason he stays open is because of the krauts from the embassy that frequent his place. Ever check out the menu for the restaurant upstairs? Only a diplomat could afford those prices.
Is Passions that place that has the huge sponge cakes? If it is, I'll check it out next time. |

i like the guy. he reminds me of one of my uncles. he used to carry some awesome senf for a very reasonable price. as far as i know, it was the only place you could get it in korea. hell, my father has trouble finding it in new england! he's recently stopped selling it because of the weak won and increased duties on importing "specialty" products. i need new mustard! |

I'll just chime in and say the guy isn't that bad. He's always been kind to me and makes very good Sauerkraut. |
