E3 had a few interesting announcements about the PSP. Yes, PSP GO will be coming. It has no umd drive and all media will be downloadable. Interesting idea.
Some future exclusives now definite are a new Metal Gear Solid game and
Gran Turismo PSP was finally confirmed, and will be available for the October launch of the Go.
I have the first psp from release day and I still like it. GREAT to watch movies and TV on. I have it mounted on the treadmill at the mo. |

Both the PSP and DS have wonderful RPGs on each system. It just depends if graphics are a big deal to do. If it is, then get the PSP, if not, then get the DS.
Both can be modded like the post said before. The only difference is that you have to change things on the PSP and use modded firmware, and the DS you just have to buy the modded DS card (Cyclo, M3 Sakura, ect) |

Oh yeah... a funny little tidbit about the DSi - when you take photos, it makes a loud photo-taking sound which you can not turn off. Supposedly to stop 변태's taking naughty photos. Gotta love Nintendo! |
It's actually a Korean law..... |
Is that true? |

Ah, Mario of course. Then again, I'm not as into staring at hugely muscular men as some are. My little sis loves God Of War though.
I believe the camera noise law is true, and that it also applies to cell phones with cams. |

Gentlemen, sorry to hijack the thread a little bit, but I have had a few biting questions about psp's lately and this seems like a good place to ask them.
I am considering whether or not to get a psp 3000. One of the things I am wondering is in regard to watching movies on it. I understand that avi's etc must be converted, but is a modded system needed to play the resulting file?
Secondly, It is well known that the psp 3000 has been a difficult beast to hack, so I am also wondering if it is possible to buy games for it in the English language @ Yongsan. I guess at this time there are around five or so back catalogue games that I am interested in including MGS:Portable Ops, FFT: War of the Lions, God of War and a few others. Is it possible to get these older titles at Yongsan or are the newer ones more readily available?
Lastly, someone who has been down there recently give me an idea on pricing for the unit? I have seen them on Danawa for around 230k so is it possible to get them cheaper from one of the vendors?
Any feedback is appreciated.
Cheers |
