Hi there,

We have been given a 9 month old cat to look after. It's had all it's vaccinations up until now, so we were wondering if there is anything else it may need in the next few months? Perhaps heartworm for summer? How often should it be dewormed and what is the best for this?

When I took my kitty to the vet last week to update her vaccinations the vet suggested the heartworm medication and rubbed some sort of gel onto her neck. It was cheap, maybe 15,000 won. You might as well do it.

Thanx so much guys. Does anyone know if this heartworm stuff is 100% necessary?

I have a cat and our vet recommends heartworm medication be applied monthly year around. After you see it done once at the vet, you should be able to do this one your own (my wife takes care of it). As nicam said, it's about 15,000 a month and it comes 3 in a box.
