|
|
I am not asking which is better, but which one needs more teachers?
So far, I have been offered many jobs to work at hagwons and elementary schools. I have had about 5 high school offers, and about 3 uni jobs if I were willing to travel.
However, I am surprised no recruiter has offered me any middle school positions. I am wondering if I should accept a high school job or wait in hopes a middle school will offer me a position.
From my experiences at hagwons, middle school students are the worst. I would have thought teachers would be glad to leave and work at a high school or uni job instead.
Does anyone have any insight into this? I experienced the same thing in Japan. |

| I saw some numbers for Busan. There are 28 high school teachers in EPIK here in Busan and 130 in middle schools. |

Ok, let me be even more specific.
I am looking for a middle school through GEPIK. Do teenagers at the middle school age even go to school?
Sorry, just been searching the internet for middle school jobs since May, and unfortunately there is a middle school drought. I hope I didn't miss some deadline. |

It really depends on the amount of schools in the GEPIK program. Could be a lot of middle schools out there looking for teachers, but they choose to advertise themself.
I've noticed a few school leaving the GEPIK program in order to find teachers themselves. I talked to my last coteacher and she said they wanted to choose their own teacher, instead of gambling on whatever teacher GEPIK just happens to send their way. |

| I understand that, but how do they get teachers then? I have sent my resume out to many recruiters who keep telling me they have no requests from middle schools, only hagwons and elementary schools. |
