Glad you like it.

Man, I just really wish there was more focus on using these kind of cool bands and performers to promote Korea rather than all that tripe like Boa and Wondergirls.

(And personally, I reckon the girl playing the melodian in that video is way more charming and attractive than Lee Hyori.)

would this be something I could find at a Korean record store? there's a couple other acts I'd be interested in listening to, but uh, let's just say that Korean indie/rock/etc acts don't show up on most posters I see when passing by record shops.

It would pay to ask, as I've managed to pick up some fairly uncommon CDs at places like Kyobo bookshop, but you might be able to track them down online if you can't find them in a shop.

This link to Daum music will let you listen to the first minute of every song (you'll need to install active x control).

The best small and independent music shop I've seen in Korea was on Yonsei Ro, the street running between Sinchon Station and the main gate of Yonsei university. The shop is on the left hand side (if you're walking north towards Yonsei) and is about 2/3s up the street.

While I'm not a huge fan of "hippy" music....I agree that there should be more awareness of something other than 2nE1 or SuperJunior bullcrap music.

Asoto Union is by far my favourite Korean band. These dudes are great!! Here are a couple good songs. The CD that these are from is full of good stuff, but can't remember the album name. Sorry.

Pretty good. It's great to find the hidden variety in Korean music. I've had conversations with Korean friends and students where I've listed half a dozen Korean bands that I like and they haven't heard of any of them.

I on the otherhand wouldn't know the difference between Wondergirls and Girls' Generation. Smile

Have you seen them live? How much does it usually cost to see a band like this?
