They've taken Discovery Channel off my cable package! The only channel with some modicum of intelligence has vanished and been replaced by a Chinese channel. At first I thought it was perhaps a Discovery documentary of Chinese cinema but no, it's gone and probably forever. And just when they were replacing that fraud Bear Gryles with Les Stroud, too.

I'm in Northwest Seoul and it got pulled here too. It's now a Korean science channel. They do play some shows that appeared on Discovery, but it is just not the same. Now the only Western channel I've got is CNN.

It looks like Discovery might have gotten pulled nationwide. Does anyone out there still have it/

Wow, I'm very sorry to hear that YBs. If I'm not watching a movie Discovery is where my TV is set (albeit I watch the NG channel with the Korean dubbing if something interesting is on there). I'll cry bloody Mary if I lose Discovery.

From my experience, the cable channels will periodically 'reorganize' the channels. Sometimes they pull channels, but sometimes it's a matter of changing the number of the channel they are on.

Disocovery might still be there; try punching into the remote the numbers of channels that are not pre-programmed, and you might find them.

I haven't checked if mine is gone, first AFN, now Discovery..please don't let it be true.

C&M still has Discovery, CNN, BBC and a number of channels that carry English programming. All for a paltry 14,000 won a month.

They did that to me in late 2003 and it hurt too. Thereafter I gravitated more toward streamed nature and science programs online - there is a wealth of them free and easy to access - and eventually got rid of the t.v. and only use a computer now.

Ditch the t.v.

I still have Discovery channel out here in Suwon. I'm actually watching Les Stroud right now.
That sucks that they pulled it from your package. I hope they don't pull it out here either!

I posted about this on July 1st...there was some sort of cable shake up.

I'm in Northwestern Seoul and we still have Discovery but it changed from channel 48 to 75....so check that tonight.

I'm still peeved that I lost OCN, channel 33. My channels go from 2 to about 90 and I can't find it. It's gone, darn it.

So anyhow, check channel 75 for Discovery.

JJJ, thanks for the heads-up. I'll check 75 tonight to see if it's there...
