| When you first moved to Korea, how much luggage (checked in/carry on) did u bring with you? I plan on checking in 2 full sized bags with a carry on duffel bag. Am I being excessive? |

Are you a girl?
If not I suggest getting one large duffel. You will not have much room in your apartment most likely, so having 2 huge suitcases take up precious space is a waste.
WHat do you need to wear for work? bring 6-7 shirts for that. Bring a few t-shirts or whatever your casual out of work clothes are. Bring a couple pairs of shoes.
If you can, ship your winter clothes over by freighter. Take a box to the post office and tell them to ship it the cheapest way possible. |

Bring shoes if you wear more than a size 6!!!
Bring a dozen bras, if you're a girl and you are bigger than a B.
Bring prestick/blue tack if you want to put posters of hot girls/guys on your walls. |

They sell deodorant in Korea. If you have a special brand that you love, get it where you live and bring it.
They sell chocolate in Korea.
As for shoes, if you are a guy and wear a size 10.5 (US) or larger, bring your own. You can find larger sizes here, but the selection is small.
I am on my way to restock for a trip back to Korea. I am out to buy my own brand of shampoo, deodorant and vitamins. |

Two carry ons....
Two normal checked bags....
Paid $150 to bring a third checked bag.
It was a bummer getting it around orientation and such but I am so glad I brought so many "comforts" of home. |

when I first came 4 years ago I took a giant backpack full of stuff....
It turned out be too heavy (coming from NZ we only get 20kgs.. )
so I zipped off the day pack and repacked it...the girl at the check in desk suggested I just take a whole bunch of carry on...so I did...I ended up having my laptop bag, my purse, the day pack plus some duty free bags...
I also second the notion of bringing deodorant (it's at least double the price in korea...) so bring a few sticks or rolls and just be warned....
the blu tack is a good idea...it's tricky to find...
korean sizes are not as varied as you may be used to but E-Mart do sell some stuff that will do..(they have some good cheap jeans and 3/4 pants) |

I was in one eMart once, and they only had really small sizes, the next one I went to, they had a whole lot of nice stuff. Very strange! |
