| As March approaches I have been in contact with several recruiters and done several interviews over the phone. I have been in contact with teach away, aclipse, korvia and recently filled out an app with korean horizons. Any other recommendations? Has anyone gone with any of the previously mentioned recruiters? I am interested in working in public schools, and most of the packages seem standard: flight, accommodation, about 2.3 mill a month, 4 weeks vacation. I am beginning to think it may not matter who you do it through. The point is gettting a job, getting there and once that is done, you are on your own. Seems simple enough. |

You're right: in theory, it doesn't matter which recruiter you choose, because once you get to the public school, your recruiter's role is over.
In practice, if you're sure you want to use a recruiter: unless you know very well how the job market, VISA process, & negotiation process work in Korea, then you should go with a recruiter with a good rep, because they'll be less likely to lie to you about important things.
For example, my previous recruiter wanted to get me into a job starting immediately, so he told me, "don't worry, you can come and do this job on a tourist VISA for the first month, because the school has a special designation from the Korean government". His tune suddenly changed when I said, "Great! When I arrive at immigration, I'll give him your contact info if he has any problem with me working on a tourist VISA, okay?"
That's a simple case, but there are many more subtle ways that a bad recruiter can put you in the wrong situation, or bilk you out of money. |

ESL Planet is good. Rowan is a good guy and seems to care a lot about the teachers.
Also had a really good experience with Gone2Korea, very nice and helpful people there as well. |

| Dave at Footprints handled my public school app. He kept me up to date on everything and was always easy to reach by phone or email when I had questions. |

I'm going through Park English. Lena and Chris have been nothing short of amazing! I had a lot of trouble with Apostille's and such, and they are always very patient and helpful with everything! If I emailed them with a question, I got a response email or phone call within a couple of hours.
Also, I know that they keep in touch while you are in Korea. They also plan events so ESL teachers recruited by them can meet and network.

| I'm currently in the process of using Gone2Korea. Have spoken with James in Canada, who passed the file to Sharon in Seoul. Both seem pretty upfront so far. |

| ASKNow is a good one....James at ESL411 is very helpful as well. I'd look into kimnjoe for Busan jobs. Hope that helps. Make sure you shop around and get a few of them involved. |
