Two weeks of classes after exams and the principle says we must not show movies. So I decided to teach full on speaking lessons that demand 100% attention. I have been teaching with annoying levels of enthusiansm and acting like this class is the most important class ever. It has been funny to watch the reactions. It sure weeds out the students and co-teachers who really dont give a rat's ....... |

I'm doing basically the same thing. I'm also using all the PPT I've saved up over time . Lots of listen and repeat followed by pairwork. No games. |

Oh how that would suck. At least it gives the KTs some idea of what it's like to teach stuff the students won't be assessed on. |

This is awesome. You should get your Principal in to watch the class. I'm in the same boat, except the Principal has gone on vacation, or something, so "no movies" only lasted one day. |

Your good students will reap some benefit. Mediocre students who are motivated will also benefit. A minority will sleep and not disturb the rest of the students who are focused on the lesson. |
