You gotta love this. An article about Koreans scoring poorer than previously ends up with a British and American bashing each other about who speaks better English. Humans are strange.

koreans do not need english to be a global force and the language does not have to be mandatory for all koreans. db48 is very wrong.

Gillian: YES, English should be mandatory for all students, if Korea is going to be a golbal force..can you imagine trying to buy or sell products worldwide, if you only speak Korean? This is why Korea need English..

| A lot of Koreans desire American English because Americans are big traders with them, even if our English skills are "sub-standard". |
