The blue ray is region specific. Maybe you should get one when you go home if you think you might want to watch US Blue Rays.
Or not.
Just something to consider. |

why don't people understand that the value for their favorite electronics are not the same price as they are back home. Just yesterday I found a 23" Samsung HD monitor from Dell US for $149 shipped (domestically). The same monitor in Korea is more than double that price.
I too am discouraged that I can't find great deals on cheap electronics (or anything else for that matter)...but I've accepted that "I'm not in Kansas anymore." <actually I've never been to Kansas, but you get point>
If you're going home in only one month...then just buy one there. And while you're at it, buy me one too |

Oh? I didn't know that. I thought they were all region-free. I don't care about watching movies. I just want it for the games.
I know, I know. We aren't in Kansas anymore. I only said that because I am going back in August, so, if someone wants to off-load one, then I will buy it for the prices I stated. Otherwise, I may very well just buy one back home. Dunno yet.
I merely provided the links so that people didn't think I was pulling my pricing out of my backside. That's all. |

I am surprised that people are asking so much on these boards for their PS3s. I understand you guys paid a lot for them, but the re-sale value of a used one is almost half. Just run a quick search on Ebay for completed auctions like I did.
Anyways, hit me up if you have one to sell and are willing to let go of your PS3 for the price range I have.
Me. |
This is true to a point, but not many people are able to go home and buy a PS3 to bring back with them. Sadly, I have a friend who shipped a system into the country, but then got stuck paying duty fees of about $80.
I guess for the foreigner living and working in Korea (and most all of us are making good money), the prices on the forums - mine included - isn't too terrible.
For instance, I'm selling a 40gig system, 2 controllers, a remote, a component cable, and a game, for 400,000 KRW. That's only SLIGHTLY more than $300, and it's here, now. I searched "40 gb ps3 2 controllers" on ebay, and saw a few systems with bids nearing $200, and a full day of bidding left, as well as a few systems with a buy it now price of $289. And these don't include remote/cable/game...
Fellow forum-watcher Minxshin told me Playstation is raising their prices, too? Though I don't know the details about it.
THAT said, if you're able to go out and buy one, then use your suitcase space to bring it back, DO IT. If you'd rather be enjoying a PS3 between now and your vacation, and don't want to mess with going out and buying different accessories, drop me a line and I'll sell you mine.... |

Not antagonizing here, but thought it worth noting...
WINNING BID: $222.50
SHIPPING: $14.99
BLUETOOTH REMOTE: LOW average (amazon, ebay + shipping) $20.00
WIRELESS 6AXIS CONTROLLER: LOW average $30.00
PS3 COMPONENT CABLE: LOW average $15.00
TOTAL: $302.49
Granted it's an 80 gb system, but with having to purchase the other items, AND pay to ship them (or buy them for a little more money at Wal-Mart), maybe your price range of 250,000 KRW is a bit low? |

Once upon a time some poster bought a used PS3 on here from my friend. Said poster then sold the PS3 on here 3 months later at a W50,000 profit. |

Korea and the USA are in the same blu-ray region. No problems there. I own over 100 blu-rays, and a PS3, by the way. I even owned a Japanese PS3 once, and it was also in the same region with Korea and the USA.
Games are region-free. |

I will not shut up, I am very serious. It was around the time when the exchange rate here was doing whacky stuff too, so that factored in I guess.
Another poster bought a game from him and sold it here at a W10,000 profit. lol. That was really odd cuz the price he got for the game was more than what is cost on 다나와
Obviously my friend sold his stuff too low and they... well... |

Sounds like a smart salesman to me!
And cubanlord I am sorry to inform you that someone has already purchased the PS3 for my asking price, so I won't be able to "wheel & deal" with ya.. |
