I have six days of camp. One of the days falls on a Saturday.

Then I'm off till the next sememster starts. No desk-warming.

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Clause.

I'm really happy for you. I told all my friends and even called my father back home to tell him the good news.

I have to rush back from my holiday to teach 3 weeks of camp and then I will have another 4 days off after camps. My co-teacher was too by the book to even put those 4 days together with my vacation. It's funny trying to deal with a humus mechanicus that can only understand following rules. I hope you enjoy that extended holiday.

That's great. Also tell your father that I'm in the same position as the OP minus the six days of camp.

I could have called him for you. I understand that you'll be too busy working to do much communicating. Razz

Ah, yet again another thread where a teacher in the PS lottery brags about the vacation they get so that teachers who are being held to the contract ( not being screwed, but of course them too) can be jealous and feel like we are being treated unfairly.

Excellent

This may seem strange, but then I am. In any case, I have a very good friend who is a coworker (I am a chickenorker) and who is also The Queen of South Africa. Your post made me think of her. Very Happy

I just saw your join date. I was supposed to try and guess my coworker's Dave's name. I thought it was you because just yesterday I said to her, "Yes Virginia there is a Santa Clause." Shocked However, her join date would have been sooner than yours. The quest continues. Crying or Very sad

I'm not gloating. I'm just sharing my joy with my fellow expats--who are probably very happy for me.

You are gloating.

You are pointing out an advantage you have that others do not have.

They can be happy for you and they ( and others) can harbor feelings of jealousy for you at the same time.

The two are not mutually exclusive.
