The Yank. Just replace hockey with NFL.

The French Canadian. Need I say more.

The Yank who wishes he was a Canadian. Hates Bush, doesn't even have the gonads to stand up for his country.

The Canadian who wishes he was a Yank. Rightwing death beast who is ashamed of having socialised medicine. Yawn.

it's a personal favorite that i hated to use but i've become so familiar with the clique on here that i'd thought i'd share. she's my wife. i love her and think the world of her. we were in Thailand at the time of filming and it's the best shot ever i got of her...some time ago, though. Wink

are you all happy now? it's not only dreamy but also aesthetically regenerating for me to see her young body every time i read myself...get it? huh? Rolling Eyes

gee, people? how long? huh? how goddam long? Sad

Would it be in bad taste to add:

10)The Gyopo (soon to become Knee-Jerk Reactionary Sychophant or Bitter Gyopo). About to either get a terrible lesson in how horribly Koreans treat each other, or how horribly they treat outsiders...which is EVERYONE.

11)Perpetually Drunk Teacher: I think I saw him at Seoul Pub! Loves Korea more than anyone should, mostly due to the non-existent liquor laws and never-present police force. If he is lucky he'll meet a Korean woman who is also an alcoholic or one who redeems him (somewhat).

12)Hypochondriac Whiny High-Maintenence Noobie Chick: is sick before she even starts her first day of class, can't eat anything spicy, always complains about how stupid her students are and how bad the shopping is here. Always seems to be waiting on a bank transfer from back home. Constant parade of new Army boyfriends visiting her at work. Most likely she will morph into either Midnight Runner or Coldsore/Gonnorrhea Girl.

13)Moron Who Doesn't Like Spicy Food (but still came to a country where they put red pepper in everything). This one will become fat and poor trying to hunt down honky food or eating nothing but rice and bread. May very well morph into Misguided Vegetarian who insists on ruining every lunch and dinner outing.

14)Angry Culture-Shock Noobie: hates everything about Korea and wants to go home. Often overheard saying "We would never do that back in (insert Canadian or US backwater agrarian utopia)". They are right about everything, and Koreans have it all WRONG. Will most likely morph into #10 or Obnoxious Apologist.

The Foreign Teacher who expects perfection from every single human being in the world. Usually found berating people/cultures/religions/species on the internet because no one at the bar wants to hear it.
Is still on the first paragraph of their great work of philosophy. Stops a whole lesson for 20 minutes because one kid cannot pronounce rice with a complete and proper r. Subscriber to some 'reason' based magazine. Pissed that no one can stand to be in the same room with them and so blame society/culture/religions. Getting them ever to admit they did wrong is like pulling teeth. Habitats include their computer at work, alone. At a restaurant, alone. Walking down the street, alone. In front of their computer at home 'socializing' on the internet. Has the talent to get a good job back in their native land, but can't get past the interview stage (90%) or first year (10%). Does not believe in things like rank, teamwork, or spirit.

The politically correct person with an opinion on everything. Can't eat any of the food because none of it is Vegan. Can't work in a Public school because he can't stand the fact that some teachers beat kids. Can't go to Iteawon because he believed pationising the bars might feed American cultural imperialismn.

The female version of this is the Wannabe Buddist Spiritual chick. She studied International Development at The University of Guelph. This chick dreams of doing a spiritual retreat in a Temple or learning meditation on a mountain top. She will eventually get disillutioned with Korea and morph into The Hippy chick on Kho Sarn road in Thailand.

I miss my BF/GF teacher. Leaves them to find themselves, but calls them every night.

The "So this place is just like Japan, right?" Teacher. Amateur biologists may asssociate this species primarily with males, but in fact there is a female population that is less vibrantly plumed. Often found showing off their manga/anime collection to bewildered K-kids, blasting Luna Sea, and getting a double dose of evil stares from the locals. Wonders why they have had trouble finding a good relationship with the native species, often blames racism. In the same genus as the "So Korea is just like all the dramas, right?" teacher. In fact some think the 'Japan' teacher is the North American offshoot of the South American and Middle Eastern "Drama" species.

Teacher I feel sorry for the most-
"The Wanderer Teacher"- Came to Korea as part of their Earth wanders. Respects the culture, not a drunkard or a skirt chaser. Older, single, male. Enjoys Korean food because it's cheap and comes from local farms. Came to see the natural splendor and historic sites. Sold on the whole thing by some lie-filled agent and now is being thrust into a real job with Korean overwork. A good enough feller, so of course they are now slaving away on lessons everyday. Quiet, prefers rural environments. Often has great lessons to teach, but they are not related to English and are taught in a very slow drawl. Always 1 year and done.
Poor Guy.
