Hey
There are two cat cafes in Seoul. One in Hongdae, and one near SNU. The one in Hongdae is near the park (park is in front of the campus) and in the alley beside Smootie King. If you can find the Smoothie King near the park, it should be pretty easy to find the cafe. They have a big black & white sign that says Gio Cat.
The one near SNU is a little more tricky. If you get out of Subway exit 4 and head straight, there's a gas station(S-Oil). You go down the alley next to the gas station, you'll see the Gio Cat cafe on the second floor of a building. I would post a map, but their site blocks you from copying their pictures. Here's the site: giocat.com but its in Korean and you have to have a daum account.
As for which one is better, my experience in the SNU branch was better. There seemed to be more cats and a more diverse collection of breeds. They even let out kittens out at one point and one of them kept trying to snuggle between me and my girlfriend. The one in Hongdae is more spacious but there were less variety of cats and less kittens, although that might be because I went at night. However, there is this one funny cat that tries to steal your straw. Both places are 8,000 a person and you get a drink. Unlike the dog cafe, they have a lot of rules, so be mindful of that.
Found a map of both places. Hongdae

I'm in the process of getting a job in Busan and I really want to take my cat with me. We'll be traveling from Portland, OR and I keep reading conflicting things about quarantine, airline restrictions, costs, hassle, etc ...
Mamagata, are you there yet? If so, what was your experience? Thanks SO much for any assistance! |

| Explain these cat and dog cafes to me please. Are they just meeting places for dog/cat lovers? Or are there actually animals wandering around that you can play with. Sounds like a fun way to get over missing my dog either way. |
