Preseason games will begin in a few short weeks. I'm not sure how many here are football fans (American football) but I just wanted to pass on a few links that may be of interest to some folks looking for games.
Of course many can get the games on cable, or can pay for yahoo sports or some other site, but for those of us who don't have a tv, or don't want to spend money for games here are a few options.
- Ten Yard Torrents - http://leech.tenyardtorrents.com/
#1 dedicated site for downloading football..not only NFL, but NCAA, CFL and Arena games, as well as pregame shows and NFL Films specials. This is a well-run site, and by far the best option. Especially with NFL, all games played are usually available for download within a few hours, though some games are available within an hour or two after end of game (great uploading community there) Cannot watch games live (who wants to watch an exciting football game at 6am) but full games download usually within a few hours, and typically very high quality and many are in HD. This site gets 5 stars all the way!!! Great community...great uploaders..and people actually seed (Must seed to keep a certain ratio to be able to download)
Aside from that, the only other free options I have found are..
wwiTV - http://wwitv.com/portal.htm
If you find the local station that is broadcasting the games, you can watch the games live, though quality there is mixed..depending on server load and stream.
http://www.atdhe.net/ - (Live sports of all types) I used this site to watch the World Baseball Classic live earlier this year and it worked pretty well. I did not have this site for NFL season last year, but considering the choice of sports, I'm sure it would be an option for those who prefer to watch live games. From my experience most if not all are being broadcast using justin tv..video isn't bad but audio is often not great.
I have heard of others using Sopcast, though honestly I have never been successful with it.
Any others out there with other options please chime in and share. |

Thanks. I've tried to catch live games, but this year I'm finally giving up. I'll just download the high quality ones off tenyardtorrents a day or two later (and avoid talking to any of my friends from back home). That way I'm not up at 6 am drinking beer before work - really frustrating when the feeds would die too.
A warning about tenyardtorrents: avoid downloading older games. You will not be able to maintain your ratio... |

Agreed. Also, if you can live without the pregame shows, avoid those as well as they are not popular downloads. I downloaded a few of them early last season and they hurt my ratio. I was happy to finish the season with above 1.0 last season....after downloading every panthers game and all post season games. |

Thank you gentlemen. I was wondering how I would catch some games this year (and next). I watch YouTube NFL clips on a somewhat regular basis, just to stay grounded to the U.S. Holy crap, is that sad? |

Wow, another Panthers fan here?
I came across 10yard torrents about a month ago, and have been trying to get a decent ratio started before Preseason kicks in.
Does the NFL.com's website work here for videos? I'd like to see highlights of other teams, etc, but don't care enough to watch every game every week. Any other free options? |

Has anyone here bought the NFL Season pass? They offer HD quality on games, and I was thinking of trying it out. I don't want to be up at 6am watching games though, so can you watch games after they have been aired with that? |

Yes, I believe you can depending on which options you buy. I think you have to watch the game before the week is over though. |

Yes Indeed! Getting a team in the Carolinas was a dream come true!
If you haven't downloaded much, you are not obligated to keep a certain ration until after you download 20gb or more., and even after that, you only need to maintain 0.3. To keep your ration up, try to get the torrent as soon as it is posted before everyone else gets it. It is not a large community, my guess is less than 1000 users, so there are not a huge number of people who will be uploading from any given user. for that site Utorrent is the preferred program and seems to work best.
If you have downloaded something, PM me your user ID, and I will find you and download it from you to help you get your ratio up a bit. |
