More than 60 campers from Northeast Philadelphia were turned away from a private swim club and left to wonder if their race was the reason.

"I heard this lady, she was like, 'Uh, what are all these black kids doing here?' She's like, 'I'm scared they might do something to my child,'" said camper Dymire Baylor.

This issue has absolutely no merit. It's amazing how we immidiately jump to the conclusion that this issue is race related base on one ignorant, second-hand, overheard statement. The people running the pool said it was overbooked in that they overestimated the number of users. Why is this so hard to believe? The latest news says that this particular group was the last to apply and thus the first to get the boot.

It was probably a herd of loud cursing unsupervised runts from north Philly cannonballing into a sterile pool of rural and suburban Pennsylvanians. Call it what it is. This isn't the public pool in the city. I mean, look at the little kid with corn rolls. You know he's got to be a little snot with a foul mouth. Anyone who has worked in an American service profession can't deny that with a straight face. It was likely a very stark culture clash involving racist sentiments on both sides.

Maybe because it sounds like some tight-assed white suburban twit trying to cover up. Why is it so hard to believe it is just what it sounds like?

As reprehensible as it may be, it's still a private pool. They can invite or deny entry to whomever they please.

except in this case they'd already permitted entry and taken their money.
A private club still can't post a sign outside that says "No black people allowed" in fact there was an old style gentleman's club about 10 years ago that got sued because they didn't allow entry to women, the woman won and apparently she was quite bored.
