|
|
I may be relapsing and joining the WoW world again, and today went to a PC room to join my friend in a game. I haven't played in a long time, so I was just setting some stuff up and chatting with him.
But I was noticing how much I missed all the addons I used to have back in the day. On my way out I noticed some Korean kids playing and they had the full custom set up UIs.
I know that they don't DL and set all their key bindings and shit like that each time they head to a PC room. That would take far too much time.
So how do they do it? I know they can take the addon folder, but what about key bindings, and macros and all that stuff?
Thanks for the help all you other WoW addicts out there |

I don't play wow or anything, but I'm sure you can just copy the config files that contain your keybindings. |

Key bindings are saved on the server, not on the computer. As far as add-ons, yea like you said, they probably copy and paste their addons from the flash drive.
But if the best choice is to play the entire games from a flash drive/portable HDD. WoW doesn't have to have been installed on the computer. It doesn't needed any registry files to play so you can basically play it on any computer off a flash drive/external HDD. |

The whole thing off a thumb drive? Isn't the folder something like 10g?
That certainly would be the best though, as then I could also have English (working in Korean sucked since it's been so long since I played). |

HOLY crap, not really. They have a clone game of it, but not actual DOTA in W3.
They have other DOTA clones but not nearly as good as I can surmise from watching.
Christ, I love DOTA but I get kicked from every game because BL detects I'm from SK (south korea) |

The full game with both expansions and completely updated to the latest patch is more in the 15-20GB range now. |

As soon as you log on, hurry up and press up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start. After you do that, the add-ons should work.
I haven't played WoW in a couple of months. I should start up again. |

If anyone is interested in Heroes of Newerth (it's just like dota) use that link and enjoy your beta key. That link won't last long so use it fast |
DL'ing the beta now. I was a huge fan of DOTA.
I've been itching to get back into WOW. If you're still actively playing or want to start a new toon, leave me a message. |

There are better things to do than play WoW. Try studying Korean haha! I've seen my gf get massively addicted to WoW, playing from 11PM until 5:30 Am in the morning. |

I was mocked (in Korean) by the dudes sitting next to me since I was the only one not gaming in the pc room the other day. I was... studying Korean.
I then went home and cried myself to sleep. |
