Well if you base your experiences off the East Coast than ya, the economy in the Atlantic provinces has always sucked. There's a reason so many people from that region move to Western Canada for work. |
When I said east coast I meant Ontario/Quebec. The areas where the majority of Canadians live. |

| I needed a change. 9-5 in the states was getting old. I wanted to get out and travel more. I like kids. I like teaching. I like Korean food/people. It's how I ended up here. I've only been here a month but so far, so good. Now if I could only get a phone. Still waiting on that damn ARC! |

| Couldn't get a quality job that pays well with a BSc. I don't have to pay back student loans with the money I make here. It was the logical thing to do seeing there weren't many other lucrative options. |

I'm 23 and write/create technical/graphical manuals at a soap manufacturing plant in the midwest USA. I start teaching in Korea in September. I've been to Mexico a few times, last time when I was 12, but that's it for international travel. I don't want to get stuck at a job, then a wife, then a house, then kids, without ever challenging myself to explore who I am. I'm the adventurous sort, and the thought of living out my entire life in one country, or god forbid, one state, sounds depressing as hell.
I want to travel, see some new things, live a different way, and try things I would have never considered trying before.
I'm not interested in being a teacher in the states. I'm fairly introverted and I'm white so immersing myself into a radically different culture, working in an entirely different field, and becoming a minority sound like a pretty good way to explore my extrovert side.
To sum it up, to make life more interesting and never have to regret not challenging myself. |

Oh, P.S., I also wanted to utilize the French I learned in college and hopefully become fluent 
Impossible for me to get a job quickly in a Francophone country so I thought, hey, I'll check out Korea for a year while I get some teaching experience, and if I like it, go somewhere French to do that bilingual thing  |
