Sorry Jammer, but your post doesn't make any sense. Just because one doesn't take the actual driving test doesn't mean that driving ability is established by turning over your domestic license. It's a ridiculous, spiteful requirement.

1. Foreign driver's license (on exchange, you must surrender your license, which can be returned when you leave Korea if you bring your passport and airline ticket)
2. Embassy certificate
* Embassy certificate is exempted for those who have a license issued from US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Spain, Belgium, Poland, or Italy.
3. Translated and notarized copy (the issued date & valid period must be written on the translated copy)
* Translated and notarized copy is exempted for the license written in English
4. Passport
5. Alien registration card
6. Three photos (3cm by 4cm)

| That written (computer) test was whack. The first half of the questions didn't make any sense whatsoever, although it seems I passed with a 90. |

| I agree that the questions asked are ridiculous. I remember one question asking what the worst parking location is: on a blind corner, in the middle of an intersection, at the crest of a hill... After 2.5 years in the ROK, I can now understand why they ask such idiotic questions. At my uni, cars will park on the center line of the road-lined up like ants. Does the uni do anything? No. Anyway, I agree, worthless questions. |
