|
|
One of my friends from the states is looking to come over in late September/early October. She's working with a recruiter, but he hasn't found many jobs in the Bundang area, and we want to live near each other. If anyone knows of any jobs that will be open in the Bundang area, I'd appreciate hearing about them. My friend is in her early 20s, blonde, American and has a double major in Pre-Ed and English. I know the jobs here are getting harder to find, but she's got a good degree, and of course, the "look" most schools are looking for. Any suggestions are appreciated. |

All you need to know about getting a job in South Korea! No wonder Koreans aren't learning English!
I have been told there are no PS jobs left around Bundang/Seongnam but never fear! There will be a load of bailing American teachers come October/November when they actually find out that what they are paid to do is harder than it looks and no way to escape a recession.
Or she could wait till March until the next hiring window opens for public schools... Hagwons hire all year round. |

I wish that the system didn't work this way. But, you and I both know that it does, and her dual degree in English and pre-Ed do make her more qualified than a lot of people. As for her looks, well, that just makes it easier for her to get a job.
Anyway, I think she'd be better off in a Hagwon (there are some good ones around), but none seem to be hiring in Bundang at the moment. |

That's weird, I got several offers in June for Bundang positions (maybe because I am already in Korea). PM an email address with a name and I'll give it to a recruiter I am working with. If those job offers are still available, she might want one. They aren't middle school positions, and that is the only reason why I didn't go for an interview. |

Funny enough I am looking for the same thing at the same time.... not much available at the moment for sure.
Have seen a couple of public school jobs advertised but have had my fill of that for now lol. |

I'm starting in Bundang (I think, e-mail difficult to decipher) in September. I had no preference besides not being out in the boonies. |

Your friend could look at JLS. They have an opening in Imae for Oct. 1, I think the housing would be in Sunae. Starts off at 2.3. I think the website is gojls.com. Good luck |
