I was surfing across gmarket and came across this ad for 42" plasma TV's.

http://english.gmarket.co.kr/challenge/neo_goods/goods.asp?goodscode=167185283

480,000 sounds like a steal if there are not too many hidden fees or add-ons.

Seems to be a good deal.

This one is 1,500,00 with a home theater speaker setup. Can't imagine the speakers add up to much though.

It may not be a bad deal for a 42" HD TV, but it is an old standard and will not be up to the 1080i or 1080p standard. At best (and it doesn't actually say it anywhere on the pages I was looking at) it is 720p which is about two steps behind.

This TV is probably priced low, but not so low that it is a steal.

If you read the fine print you'll see that you can only get this price if you sign up for LG powercomm internet + IPTV. It doesn't even say how long the contract is, it just gives a mobile phone number to call for more information. It definitely sounds shady.

Yeah, it's up along the lines of those points things you seen in Technomart and I-park. Sorry, but forget that price, unless you want to sign up for the service too.
