Seriously, the one we have at my work seems to be designed so that everytime I make double sided copies it just totaly... uhm well F@#k's up. Usually I dont care much cause it just gives me that much more time to not be in class ... but lately it has been happening more and more. Just wondering if others have had similar experiences. So I though why not make a poll.

Cheers

I feel this way about all machinery at one time or another. I remember back home there was scheduled maintenence. Here that doesn't seem to be the norm so they work great..then less great...then completely break down. That is when the repair man is called.....

I found that to be par for the course here. Probably because people don't buy things over time or lease. They buy...the company has no reason to keep the machine in good working order. It isn't to their advantage. Plus the mindset here is once it is broken or a little old ...toss it ..get a new one.

Thank God because I get alot of great free stuff......!

We had an old photocopier that ate every fifth piece of paper guaranteed and without fail. The secretary knew how to fix it though, so no worries but then one day the secretary took off so my director finally bought a new hi-tech one. This was working fine until the big snow storm when the whole school flooded and the photocopier got soaked. Of course, no one thought to unplug the thing while it was in 6 inches of water, so now I'm just scared to go near it. The new secretary seems scared of it too. We're screwed!!!!

The photocopier here is hyper-modern, a Fuji Xerox. There are eight Korean teachers, two foreign teachers. The school has morning and weekend classes. But when the copier starts to run out of ink, the boss doesn't listen. Or stalls. So to make it work you have to drop the front, unlock the ink tube from its sleeve and jostle it back and forward to settle the ink powder so it'll go again on what little it has. Which causes a fine black dust to puff into the air, which you can't help but breathe in. Which probably gives you 'black lung', haha.

Usually there are no problems unless I am trying to copy on both sides and put too much paper into the feeder. But, we have a copy guy at our school. He fixes the machines if anything happens. So, it doesn't really bother me too much.
