Here's an article arguing for and against MCD and Lotteria. Which do you prefer? Why do you prefer it?

I prefer to eat at BK when I do crave a fatty patty. The whoppers are just too damn good - minus mayonaise!

McD's is good for fries.

Lotteria is good for almost nothing, although it's the only place in Uljin-eub where I can get a real cup of coffee.

Any of the above if the stuff is fresh off the sear grill, or out of the fryer. Lotteria is my last choice though cause they put that nasty brown sugar sauce in there. The closest thing they have to a real burger is the little tiny hambuger. Pickle, ketchup, and maybe mustard in there. That's it. When they're fresh and hot, I'll eat a few.

fast food hamburgers are awful

Kraze Burger is tolerable (and i don't care about the price, it's a few times a year expense only)

homemade burgers grilled on the backyard bbq are the best by far, hands down - anything else is a pathetic compromise as far as my tastebuds are concerned

and don't get me started on those skinny little peckers they call fries: big potato wedges is where it's at, freshly cut not frozen, from potatoes grown locally that actually have some taste

I was overjoyed when I learned that McDonalds delivers 24 hours a day. I asked the delivery guy what the minimum order was. He paused and said, "Just don't order one ice cream cone." Laughing

All are horrible, but Lotteria is dog food.

Kraze is tolerable I agree, but not for that price.

Time to dig up those old threads about where to get a good burger in Seoul...

BK is the best, tho that's not saying much. But from time to time I crave a whopper like everyone else.

McDonald's can be ok if you order the right things...mcnuggets are pretty darn good.

Lotteria is vile on basically every level...I'll never eat there again.

Cooking at home or on a grill is definitely the way to go, if possible. All the ingredients you need for a great burger are at home plus.

There's a place off post that serves 100% US beef, and has for years. This guy and his wife run the joint. Ridiculously good, and head and shoulders above your imported trash.

Fastfood is fastfood, but I do like the Tower burger at KFC here. Never thought a hashbrown in a burger would be good.

I don't eat much fast food anymore, but McD's is utter crap. I don't know why they are the most ubiquitous fast food chain out there since their stuff is so crappy, good marketing I guess. Over here my favourite fast food chain for when I'm craving the stuff is A&W, though it doesn't sound like they're over there in Korea.

I found this super-awesome burger place where they only serve 100% angus or kobe beef burgers. You pick the cow you want and they will kill it right in front of you. Then you choose all the fixings you want, like generous slices of real cheeses and thick bacon. And they are served by only the hottest Korean girls with their ample bosoms bursting out of their tight bikinis. All this plus unlimited fries and drinks for only 1000 won! But since I'm the only one cool enough to go here, I will not reveal the location to any of you scrubs! Cool

A&W is good, but the most important thing that i'll miss from the states is In-n-Out. All the Korean exchange students cry because they won't be able to eat those delicious fresh slabs of meat, fresh baked buns, and savory grilled onions. Sigh.

It's outside Camp Carroll, Gate 4 in Waegwan. Train to Waegwan station, tell the driver "Carroll, 후문, 가주세요." He might say "Gate 4?" Say yes. It's painted pale blue, next to a Filipino restaurant, it's called Why Not?, and the owner's first name is Sir and his last name is Sir.

Lotteria makes White Castle burgers look good. Yuck! And I can't go with McDonalds; I haven't eaten a hamburger there in over ten years. So Burger King it is. I tried one of those Craze Burgers - pretty disgusting.

I'm in America for a few more weeks. This post makes me hungry for a good hamburger. I think that I'll have to hit Steak & Shake or Culver's tomorrow.
