I'll be studying at yonsei University and I'd like to do a homestay with a korean family while I'm there, either paying in cash or in english lessons. anyone know where I could possibly find interested families?

Ask the school. The office for exchange students should help you out. The lady in charge is nice. I personally think it would be much better to stay in the dorm as its better to make friends. Are you studying as an exchange student?

Two things I think you should keep in mind.
Avoid the parties held by any of the student organizations geared toward connecting Korean students and exchange students. They overcharge you and use the money so they can get smashed themselves. One party might be good for meeting people, but you'll realize you're wasting money if you hang out with them.

Take Korean War with Professor Tharpe. Easy and interesting class, especially if you like military history. The trips he takes the class are pretty awesome too.

Seriously, reconsider. Have you ever lived with a Korean family before? Because I have and trust me, it's not a good idea. I mean, there's really no telling how things will turn out. You may end up staying with a really great family, but chances are, you're gonna end up regretting it within a week. Most people who come to the U.S. or Canada to do a homestay end up having problems with their homestay families and Koreans in general are much more invasive and overbearing than Americans and Canadians. They really don't have the same view of personal privacy that we do. So please, for your own sake, do some serious thinking before you leap in to this decision.

Yeah, your chances of landing with a decent, non-invasive family are .05% - you really don't want to do this.

I should say I'm 27 years old and I've taught in korea over two years now. I decided since I plan on being here a while to dedicate a few months to learning the language officially.

I decided to go with the hasookjib's surrounding yonsei, its similar to a homestay but more professional so I won't be at the mercy of some insane family. anyway thanks for (albeit cynical) tips
