I have a landlord who likes to make a hobby of randomly walking into my apartment without knocking. This morning I was fully nude when he tried to walk in. First I hear BOOM, the door was locked. Second I hear his keys rustling. I yelled "GET THE [mod edit] OUT OF HERE". He mumbles something and continues to try to open the door.

Again I yelled. He tried again. After I opened the door with my nuts hanging out, he got the message. He's done this before when my girlfriend and I were being intimate.

So, how do I say "Stay out of my apartment. Contact me if you'd like to come in."? This is becoming a bit much.

Also, does anyone else have this issue? My old apartment's landlord was great. She would call my school a day ahead and ask. He just seems to come in whenever he wants. I do have some water damage from the rain lately, he was likely coming to check on that. Still.

Next time he pulls that stunt, walk him to the door. Then open the door, walk with him into the hall, point to your apartment and say, in English: Apartment, NO! Make strong eye contact and point to him. Then turn and walk back inside. I'm assuming locking the door doesn't work of course.

I've done this. My school has even called him and talked to him about it. He's just this mindless old man who doesn't understand privacy.

When I was choosing my lock combination I made sure he didn't know it.
Thus he cannot enter my appt without my say so.

If i don't want to answer the intercom, I just ignore it and he assumes i am not in and goes away.

if theres something important to fix he can ask me when he sees me in the lift / hallway.

Print this out and hand it to him or tape it to his door. OR just tape it to YOUR door.

screw all that.

Go to the door naked. As soon as he opens the door, explain "An-young ha shim ni ka" and then give him a big hug.

Why not just change the lock? I'd love to see the look on his face when he realizes there is no way in hell he can enter your house Smile

I don't think you thought your cunning plan through. This is an older korean man we're talking about.

My apartment has the standard two deadbolt locks and also a motel-style door safety. It's not possible for someone to open the door more than three inches when I have the safety engaged nor can they enter the apartment.

You don't have to mention about the police haha, seems a bit rough!

The police were mentioned so that the man will get the point, which up to now - he seems to have ignored both from the OP and the school that have told him repeatedly. So, no - it's not over the top for the situation.

Gesh...this is all very simple......What's wrong with changing the locks?!?!?!?
If the guy asks for a key...don't give it! No law says that the owner has to have a key! Ask him for a key to his house and I bet you won't get one!

I agree with the majority of the suggestions that have been offered thus far. Hope you change the locks!

Seems to me the guy is hoping for some more "accidental" flashes of nudity, especially from your girlfriend.

WELCOME TO KOREA!

I suppose I was lucky. I lived in a goshiwon, so there wasn't room for a second person to enter, and gander.
