I'd like to enrol in a Korean Language program in Korea to get my Korean skills up a little... and get a D4 Visa too... I'm not bothered about prestige or anything when it comes to the institute its just a nice way to kill free time and get a 6 month visa...

What is the best language program out there and what kind of commitment are we talking? I'd ideally like something pretty nominal, 2 or 3 days a week for 4 hours or 5 days a week for 2 hours... also cost-wise, how much are we talking for 3 / 6 months?

You've obviously got the Universities which do the Korean programs... Sogang comes to mind first and foremost... but I've heard also there's a number of Korean language hagwons that you can learn Korean at...

Oh, Is it only admission at certain institutes, e.g. University programs that will get you a D4 visa??

Thanks!!

Whatever you do, stay away from Yonsei KLI. Too much grammar, not much speaking. UNLESS you have a lot of Korean friends to practice with. I've heard Sogang is much better.

I plan on doing this at the end of my contract in January. From what I've seen on the web, Sogang sounds like the best program. But there are plenty to choose from, including several at the local universities here in Incheon, as well.

Every program I've seen runs 5 days a week, tho, not "2-3 days," just FYI. It's also illegal to work on a D-4 during the first 6 months of study, but, yeah, *wink wink*.

Do you need to attend a University language program to get your hands on a D4?
