Are you lascivious? Do you ever feel lascivious? Do you enjoy feeling lascivious? Do you like the word lascivious?

Would you rather be described as lascivious, or corpulent?

Something about the word corpulent that invokes visions of a giant pimple about to explode, dressed in a suit and tie...

(maybe subconscious merging of the words pustule and corporate???)

I think i'd rather be lascivious.......... I've even perfected my lascivious wink. It goes well with my unbuttoned silk shirt, hairy chest and gold chains. The ladies love it...

"lascivious" for certain...

I just dusted that word off last week. Out of no where. I think I learned it in 9th grade and it had been tucked away all these years.

Now everything is lascivious with me lately.

I would pay money to hear Javier Bardem say "corpulent" but I doesn't like the meaning.

Whenever I read that word I imagine sylvester the cat trying to say it.

I've always thought it'd be kinda amusing to teach kids a list of difficult English vocab that they have no idea of. >Very Happy

I am lascivious these days. Funny you should mention it. But I prefer the word "wonton".

Would that be Cantonese, Sichuan or the Westernised fried variety?

I wanted to ask also, but I held my tongue for fear of being ostracized. xD~

Guru knows I have a crush on him, so he's not scared.

To answer your question...Western fried, of course.

Should it be "wanton" then? I stand by my word choice.

Wise decison. You barely-tolerated newbies best leave the snark to us seasoned pros. Wink

Actually, I love both types -- wanton women and wonton women. Well, the nice one who invited me to Mak's Noodles in Wellington St., she was lovable. and I was lathiviouth!

Was this thread in reaction to asmith's spate of bored-to-death-at-office "Are you a loser?" "Are you a virgin?" "Are you an economic refugee?" threads?

Don't tease me, Guru. I'm already lascivious.

I guess a thread for logophiles, though I like words for their evocative effects, not like the words intrinsically. Is there a word for that?

I prefer "lewd" to "lascivious," and "wanton" is good too. "Lascivious" just seems too forced when used in conversation. Wanton is cool like "zounds" is cool: it's used in Shakespeare's plays and just sounds nuts. "Lewd" with its long vowel but compact form has some punch. The sounds in "lascivious" are good enough, I guess.

I do like "corpulent" too.

Try saying 5/6: the sixths is nuts to pronounce (/s/, /th/, /s/)

The question is though, are there lascivious wontons? The things I like to do with my eats! Laughing

favorite word as of late:

Congolese

boy that's just nice to say.

lame attempt no. 1:

Of the wanton Congolese cuisine, few foods are as lascivious as the fried wonton, whose presentation is often as suggestive as the morsels are corpulent and crispy.

(alliteration points)

Lewd is faintly comical. If someone painted a huge c0ck on the sidewalk, that would be lewd. Lascivious has a crueler sound, more seductive and threatening. It's the l, the s and the v.
