I was having a look at the story about the passing of the media bills when this little item caught my eye. Good thing the two were plant workers and not journalists.
This story has legs. Long hot summer indeed.

And how about the times that I have had people try to take photos of me without permission? Can't I get those retards locked up? |

I think I remember reading somewhere that foreigners are exempt from legal protection when it comes to photography, so no, you cannot. |

I'd call them "artists" and hope they display their works at an art gallery near me.

The racing girls are models who are paid to sex-it-up and photographed. That gets the cars photographed too!!
But your second case is a good point indeed. What is the difference from Korean guys snapping western girls in bikinis and foreign guys snapping Korean girls at Haeundae? |

If you are in a public place, you do not enjoy the privacy of NOT being photographed. I don't get how people can take this crap so far. A beach is a public place, I can take photos of whoever I want. IF girls in bikinis don't want their photos taken they can either ask the person doing it to stop, or they can stop being half naked in public.
It will take one of these Korean dudes getting ticked and taking it to the supreme court before we see that public places = limited privacy.
And I agree, the only difference between taking a photo of a whitey in a bikini and a Korean is the whitey might actually fill out the top part of the bikini, so it is a worthwhile photo. |

So cops only do their job is the suspect is not Korean. Is there even a law against taking photos of people in public? Because I see Koreans doing it all the time. |

One reason I never pursued journalism is my belief that photographs can be bloody invasive, like parasitic leeches. These Indonesians were pushing the envelope by taking pictures of 50 women at the beach, and we don't know if these girls were in compromising positions or not. A Mudfest is a festival, but you make a good point. Where is the line between taking pictures for personal memories at a festival and on a beach? |
