As the title says Im curious about what everyones biggest little complaint about living in / moving to Korea is.

I dont want the typical long winded B.S. that we read every day, Im looking for the quirky, funny anecdotes we all have but dont say often. e.g. Theres no spellcheck on the classroom blackboard.

Mine is that I couldnt take my classic clickety clack natural keyboard that is the size of my chest with me. I can get over the key placement, and the lovely click sound those 2 pound keys made, but I keep hitting the wrong buttons in the delete, home, insert, etc. zone. It drives me nuts when I want to hit delete and instead I whacked insert and just deleted a line of text or completely destroyed my table because I was looking the other way while just typing away.

To compound this I usually look away and get just distracted enough I completely forget what I just nuked to the evil insert key.

Damn you muscle memory.

So whats yours?

Ctl + Z= your friend for situations like those.

my pet peeve is not knowing what the announcements are that are being made over my apartments PA system. on average 2x a week i hear these things and never know what they are saying. All i could make out today was "cable" so something is happening to the cable but i don't know what.

That used to irk me too.

I was pretty sure they were never terribly important but sometimes at the back of my mind I was worried that I'd just ignored a warning to leave the apt bulding ASAP as the Norks had just overrun it or it was on fire or something....

ha. ya that is pretty much my reaction half the time. i try and tell if i can hear a sense of panic in the voice to tell if i should be worried about a incoming attack. just natural habit to think of the worst since i cant understand a single word.

i too am pretty sure they are meaningless. although i have noticed a couple times my hot water not working about an hour after the announcement.

this has made me jump in the shower anytime i hear an announcement immediately in hopes of beating the imminent hot water outage.

on the down side, one of these days these announcements are going to make me hop in the shower right as the missals start flying, so i'll be naked and wet running out of my apartment.... "look at the stupid whitey, didn't he hear the announcement 10 minutes ago to get the h--- out".... ahh, that will be a fun day.
